Bun and Barrel

Well here is our fisrt favorite of the city of San Antonio. When we moved here six years now and this was our early favorite. We first visited and found the BBQ to be closest to what we grew up on. and we loved it. We have since decided to try their other items on their menu. They too are good and worth the trip. Everyone can be happy with what ever they ordered. Don't be fooled by the old drive in style of the restaurant, it is a dine in and also take out. Randy's favorite is the take out, if you are going to get barbeque to go skip the restaurant all together and just go to the source which is out back. The kind gentleman is generous about giving you a taste of whatever is handy and you will be glad to make your choices knowing that they will taste good. Ok here are our favorites

The whole family likes the ribs, brisket, I'm partial to the chicken. Everything there is great.
Aimee's favorite item is the brisket and ribs
Randy's favorite is the 3 meat plate, he likes variety.
My favorite is well the whole place.

Just try the Bun and Barrel on Austin Highway you will be glad you did.

Willies 281 San Antonio

Hello readers

Randy and I have decided to recommend our favorite restaurants in the city of San Antonio, first off I would like to tell you that we love this place. We have been known to eat there 2 time a week, but now it is only about 3 to 4 times a month.

The offering at Willies are a great mix of American cuisine. You can have nachos for an appetizer and then go on to a chicken fried steak for your meal and then if there is room they have great deserts.

Some of our favorites are Small nachos- which will feed our family of 3, we also will add another appetizer to this which could be the fried mushrooms, pickles or jalapenos, and also they have hand breaded onion rings.

We have taken all our visitors here, now keep in mind this is a kid friendly place. It is not fine dining so if you are wanting a place with napkins that are cloth, this is not the place. It is a fun and friendly atmosphere. All the people that work there are friendly and very capable of taking care of all your needs. In all the time we have gone there we have not had a bad waiting experience, because believe me we have a bad experience we will not go back, and we will not tip.

Here are some recommendations for meals:
Randy-- The Buffalo Tenderloins
Suzanne-- The Chicken Fried Steak; Philly Cheese Steak; Willies Chicken Sandwich (YUM)
Aimee-- The Bacon Cheeseburger
So go to Willies (281-San Pedro between Thousand Oaks and Brook hollow) and Enjoy.
